Case Study
Engineers Ireland – the voice of the engineering profession in Ireland – runs STEPS Engineers Week each February to promote interest in and awareness of engineering as a career to children across Ireland. The initiative is funded by Science Foundation Ireland’s Discover programme.
Every year, Engineers Ireland commissions Science Made Simple to provide a range of engineering shows to tour primary and secondary schools throughout the Republic. Based on previous years’ experience and any particular theme requested, our presenter team develops a bespoke programme of events featuring exciting live shows and demonstrations, with which the team then travels the length and breadth of the country, presenting to over 7,000 students and teachers, helping them to gain confidence and nurture aspiration for a career in engineering.
As a result of the travel restrictions and social distancing rules, the 2021 tour was delivered online, featuring new and existing shows and workshops.
The STEPS Team have consistently booked Science Made Simple as part of Engineers Week in Ireland for the last couple of years. Each year they bring fresh content and provide shows that are tailored to a wide range of school aged audiences. The performers are reliable, work on their own initiative and have all received very positive feedback from show attendees.
